GCO Choir

The choir enables us to bridge the gap between the Catholic Church in The Gambia and the USA. More importantly, it allows us the opportunity to incorporate our traditions through songs. The choir has performed for the Black Arts Festival in Piedmont Park, Atlanta, the Pan African Festival in Macon, GA, the convocation ceremony for new students at Berea College in Kentucky, the multicultural exposition at The Total Grace Church in Atlanta, the Expo African Cultural Event at the Georgia World Congress Center (Atlanta), the Multicultural Christmas Musical at Spelman College, the Conclusion Mass for Conference of African Priests at St. John the Evangelist in Hapeville, GA

During our Silver Jubilee celebration in 2018, we collaborated with the SeneGambia choir for our first cultural night extravaganza. In 2019, we were graced by the presence of the first Gambian Catholic Bishop, Reverend Dr. Gabriel Mendy, a memorable highlight in the annals of our history. Given the high visibility of his visit, our sister choir from St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Woodstock, GA, joined us as part of our continued effort to inculturate both traditions of worship. The choir continues to progress in all facets of singing and song presentation.
